About Uth Care
Uth Care (Youth Care) was created out of my own passion for volunteering. My hope is that by making volunteering options more abundant and available, more teens will become involved. During my teen years, I have volunteered through more than thirty organizations. Some have been the best experience of my life and others have been a great learning tool and a humble encounter. Most of my volunteer work has been through different health care organizations; American Red Cross, Simi Valley Hospital, Sunrise Assisted Living, and others that placed me in an environment that I hope to one-day be my future profession. Other places I have volunteered have included Youth Council, City Hall, Local Elections, Youth Leadership Programs, Food Drives, and local Care and Share. There are so many volunteering options available that many teens don't know exist and I hope that through my experience and research, I can make those options readily accessible.
One of the major problems that teenagers have when deciding to volunteer is that they have a stereotype stuck in their head saying that they are limited to the typical hospital or library or even the occasional "beach clean up day." I wanted to break that stereotype. Uth Care is a place where youth can come and see all their volunteering options that are local and in a wide array of categories. I'm here to help youth be aware that they can volunteer for what they are interested in which allows volunteering to be more enjoyable.
I feel that if youth are enjoying their time spent
then they will ultimately learn more from their experience and
hopefully build a passion to do more and help more.
I am hoping that if volunteering can become a fun event and something you are truly interested in than you will want to do more. While growing up, goals and dreams may change, but Uth Care is here to help youth learn more about what interests them and have them surrounded by the environment which someday may be their dream job.
